Today is a very special day, because Tons are releasing two records I worked on during the last months.

The first one is Hashension, their third studio album. It’s an important record for Tons, and I’m particularly proud of it because for the first time all of us (meaning the band & me) took part in the songwriting, and you can definitely feel it. We had a great time recording, unleashing a great dose of creativity alltogether. Compared to the old records, it’s mature. It’s heavier, it’s more psychedelic, it’s way more personal. There are all the classic elements of Tons music, but put together in a very different way, marking a step up from their previous stuff. They raised the bar, quite a lot.

The second Tons release coming out today is the 10th anniversary reissue of Musineè Doom Sessions, Vol. 1, which I originally recorded & mixed and that I remastered for this occasion. MDS has been the first official record I did all by myself at the very beginning of my career, so I kinda knew where I wanted to go soundwise but I didn’t have the mixing skills to get there. Lorenzo Stecconi did a great job pushing my mixes and making them loud, but I took this opportunity to make a new master, more faithful to the vision I had back then and I couldn’t achieve. It’s been cool to look back to these last ten years, I’m looking forward to the next ones tho!
