I finally came over a new pedal mod, this time for the popular Boss Metal Zone. It seems that almost everyone had this heavy-metal-in-your-bedroom pedal when 15, but then realized that mosquitoes ain’t that metal.
Basically this modification – which I call the Marshall mod – gives a less compressed and less distorted sound, improving the overall volume and dynamic response. The sound is fuller and you can dial distortion in, from sweet crunch to all-cranked-up wall of sound, just what you would expect from a good old Marshall stack!
Combining differend kinds of diodes, it’s also possible to choose a more hi-gain sound: it’s just a subtle change, but that’s what we live for, it isn’t it?
