Last friday my buds Hierophant came to play at the venue where I’m currently working, Magazzino Sul Po in Torino. It’s been such a pleasure to see them again after almost one year!

20 years of Stearica

Last saturday Stearica celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band in the venue I’m currently working in, Magazzino Sul Po, in our hometown Torino. It’s really been intense, they had Can’s Damo Suzuki, Girls Against Boys’ Scott McCloud and Fluxus’ Franz Goria as guests. I really enjoyed doing sounds for them and for such great guests! Here’s a short excerpt of their set, Girls Against Boys’ Bulletproof Cupid featuring Scott McCloud.

Omega Machine release show

The End That Comes With The Omega Machine has not officially been released yet, but a couple days ago I had the pleasure to do live sounds at its release party which took place at Blah Blah in Torino. In a few weeks phisical copies will be available through the band itself and Subsound Records.

Deepest Sea · Tutti I Colori Del Buio – Three Times Denied Means Fuck You

Last Saturday Initiation Into Nothingness, first album from Tutti I Colori Del Buio, has been released through a bunch of DIY labels – Sonatine Produzioni, Dischi Bervisti, Dingleberry Records, Shove and Bare Teeth Records.

Working on your band’s records is never easy, you and your bandmates are your own client and you’re never going to be easily satisfied, so there’s quite a lot of pressure. It took a lot to finish and I almost got mad after it, it but in the end all of us are really satisfied with the result

Paul Beauchamp tracked it live at OFF Studio, I recorded vocals and guitar overdubs, did all the guitar/bass reamping and mixed at Deepest Sea and finally Brad Boatright spiced everything up doing a flattering master at Audiosiege.

Last but not least, a huge thank you goes to my bud Salvatore Aricò who gave me a great help doing some editing while I was relocating last winter.

Varvara 2016

In a few days summer will officially be over. This year I spent it mainly working in studio, but took a break from recording to work at Varvara 2016, which happened in the end of August. It’s been really exciting to me, since I got to live-mix one of the most extreme bands I’ve ever seen live, Ramleh, in the amazingly beautiful location of San Pietro In Vincoli desecrated cemetery in Turin, Italy.
This is more or less what happened.

Varvara Festival 2015

This year’s Varvara Festival for what I’m concerned ended with these words posted by Cindytalk: “the sound (…) was immense – brilliant soundsystem with outstanding engineers. Big thanks to them too”

For me and Stefano Genta it’s been 6 days of work in a odd venue, doing sounds on two stages, operating an Avid Venue console (which was kinda new to me), but it’s definitely been a pleasure to work in for such inspiring people as Cindy, Larsen, Paolo Spaccamonti, Ancient Methods, Fukte, Cut Hands, Sleeparchive, Phurpa, Space Aliens From Outer Space and Gianni Giublena Rosacroce.

I’m looking forward to next year!
