Ker – Buried At Sea/Comfort The Blind

Today Ker digitally released a two-tracks ep, which were intended to be part of their debut album. I recorded drums at OFF Studio last June with Paul Beauchamp (who also added some noises on the second track, Comfort The Blind). The band then recorded bass, guitars and vocals in their reharsal space and sent all the stuff to Ultha’s Andy Rosczyk who mixed everything at his Gobling Sound Studios in Cologne. Michael Schwabe took mastering duties at Monoposto Mastering, in Duesseldorf.
Despite being friends with the band since years, it’s actually the first time I did some studio work with a foreign band, and thinking they came from Germany to record with me makes me feel really proud!

Here we go with the first update of 2017, actually the first one in four months. You know I am lazy, but not at this point! In the last few months I’ve been busy a lot, mainly doing live sounds for Hierophant during their Italian tour. Here you can see a video shot in Santeramo In Colle, waaay too close to the stage

Then, with the precious help of my partner in crime Paul Beauchamp I recorded some new stuff of Last Minute To Jaffna and Tons at OFF Studio, and also recorded drums for Thirst Prayer’s debut.

Meanwhile, two records I’ve worked on have been released: The Storyteller pt. 2 by Black Wings Of Destiny came out on March 24th and Buioingola’s Il Nuovo Mare on March 31st.

Last Saturday Initiation Into Nothingness, first album from Tutti I Colori Del Buio, has been released through a bunch of DIY labels – Sonatine Produzioni, Dischi Bervisti, Dingleberry Records, Shove and Bare Teeth Records.

Working on your band’s records is never easy, you and your bandmates are your own client and you’re never going to be easily satisfied, so there’s quite a lot of pressure. It took a lot to finish and I almost got mad after it, it but in the end all of us are really satisfied with the result

Paul Beauchamp tracked it live at OFF Studio, I recorded vocals and guitar overdubs, did all the guitar/bass reamping and mixed at Deepest Sea and finally Brad Boatright spiced everything up doing a flattering master at Audiosiege.

Last but not least, a huge thank you goes to my bud Salvatore Aricò who gave me a great help doing some editing while I was relocating last winter.

Taken from the yet untitled TICDB’s new album sessions, here comes this track, released by The New Noise on their Vol. 4 compilation. It’s a cover of Nerorgasmo’s Io Mi Amo.

It’s been tracked by me and Paul Beauchamp at OFF Studio, then I reamped, mixed and mastered it at Deepest Sea.
